Meet Our Team
Rodney Ghany is a seasoned broadcast engineer and successful media owner with over two decades of experience in the industry. His career began with a deep passion for the technical intricacies of broadcasting, where he honed his skills in installing, maintaining, and optimizing complex broadcast systems. Rodney’s expertise ensured seamless and high-quality transmissions across various platforms, earning him a reputation for technical excellence. Leveraging his engineering background and entrepreneurial spirit, he transitioned into media ownership, acquiring and managing several television stations. Under his leadership, these outlets have thrived, combining cutting-edge technology with innovative content strategies to reach diverse audiences. Rodney’s unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen has made him a prominent figure in the broadcasting industry.
Andrew “Andy” Johnson began his career in Journalism in 1972, working for the political weekly newspaper ‘MOKO’ before a brief spell with the Bomb and Sunday Punch newspapers. He entered daily journalism with The Guardian Newspaper in 1974 and The Evening News in 1976. In the mid-1980’s he rejoined the Express, eventually becoming their News Editor and Assistant Editor. Andy was part of the team which heralded the move into broadcast journalism, at the then Radio Trinidad, in 1991. He later became Head of News and Programming at what became Trinidad Broadcasting. He then moved on to become the Editor of the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian Newspaper and was host of TV6’s ‘Morning Editon.’ Andrew Johnson was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Government Information Services Limited (2010-2015) where he was a senior adviser to the then Prime Minister and members of the cabinet. He joined the WESN family in 2021 as the host of 10 questions. A veteran in the media industry, he was the first president of the Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
Andre Errol Baptiste is a results driven, self-motivated and resourceful individual whose love for sports has manifested into an impressive sports journalism career spanning print, radio, internet and TV media. He believes in our athletes’ abilities and always stresses that to ensure their ultimate success, support is needed from both government and corporate sponsors. He travels internationally covering live our athletes as they pursue their goals in World Olympics, Test Cricket, T20, World Athletics Championships, CONCACAF and World Cup qualifiers. He is never afraid to say it as it is, and is known as one of the most feared, but respected sports broadcasters in the Caribbean. He has been with WESN since its inception and has not only hosted ‘The Face of Sports’ but other special sporting broadcasts the station has hosted.
Sule A. Joseph is a graduate from the University of the Southern Caribbean where he read for his Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. He specializes in Family, School and Community Therapy. He has worked with the Family Court of Trinidad and Tobago, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Ministry of Education. He is the founder and Managing Director of Sule Joseph and Associates – a psychology practice with focus on child and family therapy. He has served as the Chairman of the Youth Mobilization Foundation and a s a member of the Children’s Authority Board of Directors. Sule joined WESN in 2020 where he produces and hosts ‘Psyched.
Rondell Donawa was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2010 and admitted to practice in Trinidad and Tobago in 2012 as an Attorney-at-Law. He is the principal partner of Rondell Donawa & Associates. Apart from Law, Rondell is heavily involved in culture and the arts being a calypsonian and the Public Relations Officer of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organization. Rondell joined WESN in 2020 as the producer and host of ‘Strictly Legal’ where his aim is to bring the law to the layman in its simplistic form.
Sean Michael Small attended Fatima Boys College before reading for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from The University of the West Indies’ School of Business and Applied Studies. Whilst reading for a degree in Mass Communications, he joined WESN as the production assistant ‘The bread & BUTTER Morning Show.’ Having been a believer in tackling complicated issues by being willing to have the difficult discussions, Sean became a producer and co-host of WESN’s ‘Talking Point’.
Having successfully read for his B.Sc. in International Relations and Political from The University of the West Indies, Ketan Shah has been a part of WESN’s media house since its launch in September of 2020, starting as the producer and co-host of ‘The bread & BUTTER Morning Show’. He is currently the producer and host of WESN’s daily morning show ‘AM Prime’ as well as the co-host and producer of “Talking Point,” a current affairs program that analyses the latest developments related to the political, economic and social affairs of Trinidad and Tobago. Ketan also shares the role of producer for other programming on the station.
Ryan Gomez Burke better known as RGB, is a versatile and highly skilled professional in the film and broadcasting industry, serving as an all rounded, specializing in the felids as a Grip, Gaffer, Best Boy, and Technical Broadcaster. Ryan has mastered the art of lighting design and execution, ensuring that every scene he works on is perfectly illuminated to enhance the visual storytelling. As a Gaffer, he leads lighting crews on major film and television sets, translating creative visions into reality through precise and innovative lighting techniques. In his role as Best Boy, Ryan manages the logistical and technical aspects of lighting setups, coordinating equipment and crew to maintain efficiency and safety on set. Additionally, his expertise extends to technical broadcasting, where he ensures the flawless transmission of live and recorded content, blending his knowledge of lighting with the broader technical demands of broadcasting. Ryan’s dedication, technical prowess, and leadership have made him an indispensable asset in both the film and broadcasting industries.
Joash entered the media industry as a janitor for a Versatile Video Productions Television
Studio(now SGP Studios) in 2001. Taking a keen interest in the creative process while working
there, he started training and developing his skills, transitioning to shooting and editing. He
took up the role of Graphic Artist in Super Industrial Services (S.I.S) in 2004 and from there, he
pushed himself to keep learning and improving on his knowledge and skills in media. In 2006,
he joined Pioneers World Missions as their cameraman, video editor and graphic artist,
travelling the world, documenting their visits to remote areas. In late 2006 he joined Video
Associates as an editor and was able to fine tune his skills in media. In 2008, Joash joined JJ &
Friends as a Senior Animator for 12 years before becoming a part of the WESN team in October
2020. He has worked on many features, music videos, documentaries and television shows and
has directed 2 short films, ‘The Good Mother’ and ‘I Dream of Calypso’, the latter winning an
award for ‘Best Film made for Kids’ at the Realtime International Film Festival 2023 in the
United Kingdom.
Neil Stuart is a professional video editor with 10+ years of experience with advanced video editing skills and knowledge. I have been working at WESNCC for 3+years as a video editor,
I have worked with many different styles of videos such as commercials, music videos, explainer videos, corporate videos, and more. I am a hardworking and detail-oriented film/video editor, managing camera footage, dialogue sound effects, and more to produce a final film or video product.
My name is Naomi Mc Nish, I am a dedicated journalist with a strong passion for storytelling and a commitment to delivering impactful news. I am a proud graduate of Bishop Anstey High School. After which, I pursued my love for writing and communication by earning an associate degree in Journalism and Public Relations. This is being followed by a BA in Mass Communications at the Ken Gordon School for Journalism and Public Relations (COSTAATT).
I joined the WESN family, with a key role, handling news reporting and co-producing the morning show AM Prime. I love connecting with people, especially children, and this extends beyond Journalism. As a certified survival swim coach, it highlights my devotion to helping others both on and off the screen.
I aim to grow and continue bringing important news to the public, blending my journalistic expertise with a love for community.
Majel plays a crucial role in the production process, he oversees the technical aspects of a broadcast or recorded show. Majel is responsible for managing the control room, operating the switcher to select camera angles, and integrating live footage with pre-recorded content, graphics, and special effects. During live broadcasts, he ensures smooth transitions between camera shots and media elements while working closely with the director to execute the creative vision of the show. As an editor, he take raw footage and assemble it into a polished final product, ensuring the pacing, continuity, and quality meet broadcast standards.
